A few weeks ago, we began to talk about how God communicates to us in our day. We began by looking at the biblical history of God and humanity and really spent most of our time talking about how He does NOT communicate with us now. This week we will focus on what we believe to be the provable and scriptural ways in which God Almighty DOES communicate to us as His Christian children here in the 21st century.

Where is God when our loved ones die? When there are school shootings and natural disasters? In under three minutes, start learning about why God allows bad things to happen now and about His plan to eventually do away with all sin, sickness and pain.

The Bible is not only an ancient book, it is also an incredibly unique book, for it was written over a period of about 1,500 years by many authors and in several languages. It covers history and prophecy, moral and legal guidance, family counsel, spiritual enlightenment and a firm pathway to finding and appreciating the God and Creator of the Universe and His Plan. The Bible – a book made up of 66 books. So, how do we know that the collection of writings we have is the correct collection? How do we know if we are omitting some “books” that should belong while including others that shouldn’t belong? Who made these decisions? Answers and understanding coming right up!

We all know that Jesus taught us to forgive. If your brother trespasses against you seven times in a day, Jesus says to forgive. Okay, while this may be difficult, we can see its value and strive to live up to that standard. But, but what about when someone commits a horrible crime – what about when someone guns down in cold blood, innocent God fearing people in church – at a Bible study? Is the same lesson of forgiveness relevant? Do the teachings of Jesus include forgiving those who are simply and purely evil in their actions?
