A few weeks ago we began looking at the life of Daniel the Prophet, beginning at the time he was about 17 years old and taken prisoner by the Babylonian Empire. What we saw was a boy who displayed solid integrity, faith and focus as he navigated his way through the muddy waters of captivity and idolatry to shine out as a light of God in a very dark place. Stay with us as we observe him grow up and grow into a man, a leader of uncompromising strength and passion for his God.

Sometimes we as Christians just don’t see eye to eye.  We all (hopefully) take the doctrine of Christ seriously and want to abide by the word of God, so when we come to a subject that is widely interpreted, we have a dilemma.  The concept of a Hell of Torment is one such topic.  There are many views on the matter but today we want to look at it through the eyes of history to see if we can find the threads of truth and separate them from the threads of error.  You may find this surprising!  Stay with us!

We all want to be inspired. We all want to see or hear a story of someone who was so strong against sin, so courageous against captivity and so trustworthy against temptation that we ourselves become invigorated to follow that example. Daniel the prophet was one such man who lived one such story. Stay with us as we open the book of Daniel and look upon his life to see why he was beloved of God.

Our world is a mess. Our people are a mess. Our governments have no answers. We live in a time of the greatest enlightenment, the greatest knowledge and the greatest progress history has ever recorded, yet we also at the same time are experiencing the utter collapse of morality, respect and integrity. Was this all part of God’s plan or are we beyond His scope? Can this world be restored or is it a hopeless loss?

For the Christian, the Holy Spirit is a sacred part of our faith. It was promised to us in the absence of Jesus as a comforter, a guide, a teacher and even an intercessor. It is a true evidence of one who has been called, chosen and working towards being faithful. So, how does the Holy Spirit work in our lives? Who has it and who doesn’t? Is now the time for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on the world?

We all at one time or another have visions of grandeur – thoughts and dreams about what we can do to be a positive and abiding influence on others for the sake of Christ. In many cases, these ideas percolate a bit and then quietly fade away. Today, we have with us a special guest who had an idea for the furtherance of the Gospel, pursued it, developed it, lived it and today is going to tell us about what has become a 15-year journey of praise and honor to our God. All you have to do is look around – what do you see? There is knowledge, there is technology, there are people, places and things. We rush and we are impatient. We want what we want now. We text, but we don’t talk – we type but we don’t write. We have “friends,” but we don’t touch – we have families but we are not familiar. We build our dreams around ourselves, but we are lonely. Why is there such a massive and growing disconnect between our lives and our contentment? It is because we are not wise… We know we are smart, we are even savvy, but we are not wise and this is a problem!

Friday was the day to celebrate love! Valentine’s day! From the little candy hearts that say “Be Mine” to the big box of chocolates, from the gifts and the cards to the dinners out and the special time together, it was a day of appreciation, a day of expression and a day to be perhaps more vulnerable than normal – not to mention a day that retailers live for! So, what is love – what is marriage? Do they still go together like a…you know…So, how are we doing these days with love – not just with one day of celebrating, but with our everyday living in love?
