It was about 2,000 years ago when Jesus walked this earth as a man to fulfill the necessary requirements of justice and give his life as a ransom price for Adam and therefore for all mankind. We see that sacrifice as the pivot point of human history – and it was, but Jesus himself assured us that his work to reconcile this world to God was in fact NOT completed at that time. Jesus said that he would come back to finish what he had started and that there would be certain signs in the world to determine when this would happen. So, can we read the signs of his return?

Oh boy! Here we go, right into the belly of the beast called equality! Why do we call it a beast? Because it does appear that gender equality is grossly misrepresented and misunderstood! Belief in equality is key, but should men and women, in all things, be consistently measured with the same yardstick? We ARE different – science proves this! So, what gender roles are biblical? Should these roles be updated – after all, the world is an entirely different place than it was back then – or is it? Stay with us!

Jesus taught us about a lot of things in a lot of different ways, but it seems as though his favorite method was to teach in parables. In the parables of the Pounds and Talents, Jesus is either teaching us that he wants to give us money – or – he is teaching us a sober lesson about our responsibilities to him throughout the period of the Gospel age. Which is it? It is unequivocally a lesson in responsibility – yours and mine to him – let’s figure it out!

Time for a Christian Questions pop quiz! Who here in our listening audience is so satisfied with their Christian life that they see no need to focus on further change or development? As you look at your life and imagine yourself before Jesus would he say to you – wow, your character is so fully developed, your prayer life is so complete and your sacrifice of your will is so overwhelmingly perfected that you can stop trying – just relax, for you are the perfect example of my disciple! No? Well, then what are we doing about it? Are you resolving to change, but more importantly, are you keeping your resolve?

Just think – in just a few days the anticipation will be over and we will get to finally open all those presents! We will finally get to see if we will get what we really wanted or if we end up with some lame gifts… Wait a minute! Has it really come down to THAT? Have we taken the value of the day on which the world acknowledges the birth of its savior and made that day so small as to be about ME? The good news is – there is still time! We can still find the real meaning! Stay with us…

There are many analogies that depict the life of a Christian – growing as wheat, being sheep, being fishers of men, being a member of a body, growing from a baby to adulthood, brotherhood and being a soldier. Now, how is it that we who are followers of the Lamb of God can possibly be depicted as soldiers – fighting a war – with weapons – and vanquishing our enemy? Grace...even speaking the word seems to give a sense of calm. It is almost as though the word itself emits a fresh and breathable air that clears away the stuffiness of a confused life. Grace can have lots of different meanings, from something that comes with elegance to a powerful heavenly gift. So, what is grace and more specifically, what is God’s grace? How does it work? Who gets it bestowed upon them? Can grace change your life?
